Medical surveillance, Health surveillance, Biological Monitoring and Audiometric test by Occupational Health Doctor (OHD)


Medical surveillance, as defined by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health
(DOSH) Malaysia, is a process to monitor a person's health for changes due to workplace
exposure to hazardous chemicals.

As per Guidelines on Medical Surveillance Programme at The Workplace 2023

Health surveillance is a systematic process of monitoring the health of workers exposed to
occupational hazards to identify early signs of work-related ill health.

Medical surveillance- focused on regular medical monitoring of employees exposed to
hazards

Audiometric test is to evaluates how well a person can hear sounds at different frequencies
and intensities

Biological monitoring to measure chemicals, or their breakdown products, within a
biological sample like blood or urine, to assess the body's exposure to those substances
